Meanwhile China climbed to the number one in automobile production also. Surprisingly, China's manufacturing labour costs - which are a fraction of the cost in developed countries - aren't the lowest in the world. Other Asian countries, such as Vietnam and Indonesia, are developing large manufacturing bases with lower labour costs.
